Feast for the Elderly at Vidiyal – A Community Gathering

Vidiyal organised a Feast for the Elderly at our Main Centre, bringing together the grandparents of Vidiyal children for a meaningful community celebration. The event created a warm space for connection, joy, and appreciation for elders who play an important role in the lives of children and families.

The gathering included fun activities, creating moments of laughter and shared happiness among the grandparents. This was followed by a well-prepared lunch, offering time for togetherness and conversation. As a gesture of respect and gratitude, sarees and veshtis were presented to the elderly, acknowledging their presence and contribution.

This programme was organised with a clear purpose—to honour elders, reduce social isolation, and recognise their role as caregivers and anchors of family life. Many grandparents support and nurture children across generations, often carrying responsibilities quietly and without recognition. Creating spaces where elders feel valued strengthens family bonds and fosters intergenerational respect.

At Vidiyal, we believe that caring for children also means caring for the community around them. Respecting and celebrating elders is integral to building compassionate, inclusive, and connected communities.
