Understanding Power, Responding to Resistance and Supporting Children Together
As part of Vidiyal’s Quarterly Staff and Volunteers Training, a session on “Understanding Power, Responding to Resistance and Supporting Children Together” was conducted for staff and volunteers on 14th September 2026.
The session focused on understanding the dynamics behind parental resistance and exploring ways to build parents’ understanding of their partnership with Vidiyal. It also highlighted the importance of maintaining mutual respect, clear boundaries, and keeping the best interests of the child at the centre of interactions and decision-making.
The session was facilitated by Mr. P. Duraipandi, Director, COSCO, Madurai.
The training provided staff and volunteers with an opportunity to reflect on their approach, understand different perspectives, and strengthen their ability to work together with parents while remaining focused on children’s well-being and participation.
