29th Pongal Sports Meet | 4 January 2026
Vidiyal organised its 29th Pongal Sports Meet on 4th January 2026 at the Madurai College Grounds, continuing a long-standing tradition that celebrates play as a fundamental right of every child.
The sports meet featured a variety of events designed to ensure participation across age groups and abilities. Track events gave children the opportunity to test their speed and endurance, while group games such as Kabaddi, Dodgeball, and Rope Pulling encouraged teamwork, coordination, and collective spirit.
For children from younger age groups, age-appropriate and enjoyable activities such as Skipping and Lemon and Spoon races were organised, ensuring that every child had a space to participate, perform, and experience the joy of play.
Held annually, the Pongal Sports Meet is not just about competition but about creating an inclusive platform where children can express themselves, build confidence, and celebrate their achievements. Medals, wins, and participation alike were moments of pride, reinforcing the idea that every child deserves opportunities to play, perform, and succeed.
