Children Bringing Smiles Through Service
One of the values we consciously nurture at Vidiyal is the joy of giving and sharing. We believe children should not only receive love and care but also experience the happiness of giving to others. Every year, as part of the Day of Giving during Jolly Camp, children contribute a small portion of their pocket money as seed money and organise a sale-cum-fundraising event with food stalls, fun games, and creative activities, all planned and managed by the children themselves.
What began in 1998 with a collection of just ₹173 has grown into a meaningful tradition. This year, the children raised ₹26,913, reflecting their creativity, teamwork, and generosity.
On 27th June 2026, the funds raised were used to support the Christian Seva Home for the Aged. The children donated a steel cupboard, steel cot, electric mixer grinder, sarees for all the women residents, and snacks for every resident. The Children’s Theatre Troupe also presented a lively dance performance, bringing joy and smiles to everyone at the home.
The residents and home authorities warmly appreciated the children’s compassion and thoughtful service. More importantly, the children returned with a valuable life lesson—that giving is one of life’s greatest joys and that small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
